Server Monitoring and Response
Our server monitoring process is unique. We use php to check service status and compare that to what is expected
As well, we compare times of responses to what is expected, and compare individual responses to verify that the response is what we expect. For example, if we check HTTP, we will verify that it's running, that the code responded is the expected code, and that the response time is within a reasonable timeframe
By monitoring servers this specific way, we get a true estimate of what is what, and we get a true monitoring system. We don't utilize ICMP, because ICMP is something that should be disabled by default, due to it's vast flaws. We use php's setup because php has protocols built in to handle responses and checks, very easily.
