Subject: New Client Area

After a great deal of consideration, modernbill was, yet again, cancelled and removed from the list of services offered by Linux Tech Networks. All licenses have been transferred to the original reseller and clients will continue to receive support through them.

Given the vast updates we've done to our Client Area and the amount of time spent integrating various tools (monitoring, log viewing, firewall, more on the way!!), we're not going to be returning to modernbill, any time soon (if at all), as, finally, we've found the proper billing solution that works wonders for us.

Many thanks to Matt @ WHMCS for his support and direction in moving from one to the other.

The New Area Inside of the new Client Area, you will find many things to be excited about. While many of them (still) say beta on them, they are being upgraded to stable on a daily basis. Here's a look at what you can do inside of the new Client Area

  1. Update Server Info No longer is it required for you to enter server information with every ticket. Now, you simply enter the server information in the proper area, and it is viewable immediately. Of course, every security precaution was taken to ensure that your data is safe, and it is. Your server information is available only to you, and is encrypted/decrypted multiple times using multiple keys for your safety
  2. Open Support Ticket No longer is it necessary to login to two separate applications for support and billing areas. You can now manage this all from the Client Area.
  3. Manage Firewall All servers which are actively protected by the firewall will have access to the firewall area of the Client Area. From there you can view blocks, see WHY they were blocked (if they were blocked by your server(s)), whitelist IP addresses and remove blocks.
  4. View Server Status Previously, it was required that you create an account separately to view server status. This is no longer the case. All servers associated with monitoring packages will see the related statistical information here
  5. View Server Logs All server logs and information that is mailed to us from your server is now viewable inside of ths area. Previously, this was not feasible , however this is now 100% accessible to clients
  6. Lookup Firewall Info This is a new feature which will allow clients to lookup the contact information for individuals which are blocked from accessing the server

Previously, either this information was NOT provided, or it required a new, separate login. Now, all is accessible, right here, in the Client Area.

Coming Soon!!!

Soon, you will see a great deal more functionality to the client area, including

  1. Monitor Contacts This will provide you with the ability to specify contacts such as email and phone contacts for monitor alerts. Phone contact will be made via our click 2 call program, at NO charge to you
  2. Security Vulnerability Scans Yes, we do them, however, currently, this information is NOT available to clients for security reasons. We are working on an interface to load them into the client area now, and they will be available as soon as this is ready
  3. More Stuff Much more stuff which we can't quite talk about right now, but trust us, it's being worked on!!!!!
As you can see, the new Client Area is just brimming over with fun and useful stuff for you, and will make managing and securing your server just that much easier! Please, ignore our construction, and if you see something that looks a bit off, let us know.
