Subject: 4 more years!

4 years ago, this month, Tom Whiting, the head tech for Linux Tech Networks started what (was then) a hobby. The goal? To create an arrangement with a company so that he would be able to host his small websites on a dedicated server, in exchange for services.

4 years LATER, looking back, that goal turned into something much greater than I had planned. At the time, I was working for the City of Cedar Falls, IA, and I just wanted to be able to put my hosting/gaming stuff elsewhere. In a matter of a few months, I was able to ditch the City job entirely, thanks to the most wonderful clients of Linux Tech Networks and what they've said , both publicly and privately.

4 years may not seem like a lot, but in internet terms, it's a lifetime. Given the fact that the average hosting (and internet) company has a lifespan of 6-12 months, I'm proud to announce that we've been around, and self sufficient for 4 years. It's been an amazing ride, here's to another 4!!!

That said, with every birthday, I think of new ways to "enhance" Linux Tech Networks, and bring it closer to the perfect "managed services" company that I can. The new Client Area is but one of those ways to start off the new year for LTN. What else?

fully managed Dedicated Servers
Can we say redundancy? We've all heard it said many many times that "fully managed" is not possible through the DC, and, factually, it is not. Linux Tech Networks has , however, managed to secure a stable network location for re-selling of fully managed servers. This isn't partially managed, or halfway managed, but fully managed! If you need to login to your server as root to do ANYTHING but support or manage your clients, your server is NOT fully managed! You can, of course, read our fully managed fully managed statement. You'll see, it's one of THE most comprehensive in the industry!!

hosting
I thought a great deal about releasing this, as the hosting market is flooded with cheap "$1.00" hosting providers, but, in the end, it made it on the list. Managed Hosting is easily done, but it's not going to be (as) cheap as the rest of the world. More Excitement
I can't talk about it now, but there is a LOT more going on with Linux Tech Networks. Just keep checking back, and, sign up today to test new stuff out!!!!

4 Years, it's an amazing number, and I, again, want to thank ALL the past, present, and future clients of Linux Tech Networks for their continued business and support

Thomas J. Whiting,

Linux Tech Networks
